Dave is originally from Omaha, Nebraska. Dave began playing bass at age 15, when he taught himself to play the instrument because his best friend's high school garage band needed a bass player. After those early years, Dave eventually came to realize that, despite hours of practice and dedicated study, he could never actually BE Steve Harris and decided to expand his horizons. Over the next 10 years, he played in a variety of local bands ranging in styles from heavy metal to disco.

As is often the case, life eventually intervened and Dave fell out of the live music scene, trading the stage for respectable, responsible career aspirations. He moved to Illinois in 2003, eventually settling in Central Illinois after a year in Chicago. Dave decided to save the best for last and, rising from the dank confines of the basement studio, has found a home in Jury's Out.

Dave's personal bass guitar catechism can be summarized in three main points:

1)    Make it fun.

2)    Always remember you’re a bass player, not a musician.

3)    If you need more than 4 strings, you’re doing it wrong.
